This was an unusually large gig for Strangelove and clearly a lot was expected of them. It was at this point I started seeing lots of men (and some women) turning up at their gigs looking exactly like the lead singer. As someone who would be embarassed wearing a Strangelove t-shirt to a Strangelove gig for fear of looking a bit uncool, I never quite understood this approach to giging. Presumably these people are now wandering around trying to look like Marilyn Manson or something.
Freaky fan worship to one side, it was odd seeing them in such a big venue when I was used to seeing them in smaller places and found it a bit unsettling. I guess they seemed comfortable enough and even managed a full version of Sixer that was worth the price of admission on it's own.
